Excel Services (in Microsoft Office Excel 2007) combines two very powerful abilities: making spreadsheets available as a service, and adding .NET code to those spreadsheets. Spreadsheets are accessible by more users, and it is easier to add powerful programmatic functionality to those spreadsheets. Dan Ciruli show you the basics of using Excel 2007 and Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 to create spreadsheets with user-defined functions and publish those to SharePoint Server 2007.
